In the intimate splendour of the Great Hall at Wenlock Abbey, enjoy an afternoon with one of the greatest actors of our generation.
Dame Eileen Atkins will talk about her life and wide-ranging career, both as an award-winning actress of stage and screen (she can still be seen on television in her role as Doc Martin’s aunt, Ruth Ellingham), and as a writer of legendary television series such as Upstairs, Downstairs. She will be in conversation with her, and the Abbey’s friend, renowned theatre director, Richard Digby Day.
The event will start at 4pm. Entry will be from the front gate of Wenlock Abbey (in the Bullring) from 3:15pm (please note, there will be no entry after 4pm). There is a short walk up to the Abbey, and, being an ancient house, surfaces and steps are uneven and doors narrow. Regrettably it is not wheelchair-friendly.
Tickets include a glass of Prosecco or iced tea in the interval.
