In Concert: George Boomsma 14th March 2026

ShireFolk and The Louis de Wet Foundation present an Evening Concert with George Boomsma

In the Great Hall at Wenlock Abbey.

Saturday 14th March 2026 at 7pm

£15

George returns to the ancient but intimate setting of the Great Hall at Wenlock Abbey with his trio, performing material old and new. Known for his emotive vocals and soulful guitar playing, George has spent the last decade crafting  a sound that blends both warmth and melancholy. From acclaimed festivals across the world to the small back room of UK pubs, his shows are a captivating experience. His pure resonant voice paired with delicate guitar work draws audiences in, leaving a lasting impression, which has led to a cementing as one of the UK’s finest troubadours.

Over the years, George has shared the stage with celebrated artists like Richard Thompson, Katherine Priddy and Scott Matthews and his songs have found their way onto BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 6 Music and RTE Radio 1.

“Skilled guitarist, distinctive songwriter and a fine singer.” – Mark Radcliffe, BBC Radio 2

The event will start at 7pm.  Entry will be from the front gate of Wenlock Abbey (in the Bullring) from 6:15pm. (please note, there will be NO entry after 6:45pm). There is a short walk up to the Abbey, and, being an ancient house, surfaces and steps are sometimes uneven and doors narrow. Regrettably it is not wheelchair friendly.
